Summary: James is excited about Teddy's new project.
Author’s Notes: Written for round one, challenge one at the Next Gen LDWS competition on LJ. The prompt was a photo of rune-carved moonstones.
James Potter, seated on the floor and leaning back on his arms, watched as Teddy Lupin picked up the five rune-carved moonstones and placed them one by one into the cauldron. Green sparks flew.
Teddy grinned triumphantly. "Perfect."
James leaned forward to examine the cauldron more carefully. "It really worked?"
"Of course it worked!" Teddy fell back onto the floor from where he'd been sitting and put his hands behind his head. "Had you any doubts?"
James rolled his eyes. He hadn't been the only one with doubts, not that Teddy would ever admit it. "Considering your source, yes."
"Just because it was a portrait doesn't mean it wasn't still Professor Snape, and your dad says he's the best there ever was."
"So this means you won't change? At the full moon, I mean. You won't become a werewolf?"
Teddy rolled his head from side to side, indicating a 'no.' "According to Professor Snape, I shouldn't. He says I may still be a bit temperamental and rough," he said, raising a suggestive eyebrow at James, "but I should be able to stay human."
"This is brilliant."
"Isn't it?"
"No, no, you don't understand. You've finally given me my first claim to fame!"
Teddy laughed. "Oh?"
James crawled around the cauldron and straddled Teddy, his hands on either side of the top of his head. "Yep." He kissed the other boy. "I get to be the first bloke ever to shag a werewolf during the full moon."
